April has brought a wide range of temperatures to Minnesota this year — stretching from the 80s early in the month to record lows in some areas this week.
According to retired University of Minnesota climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley, those low temperatures were all the more surprising because they happened without snow on the ground. He talked with MPR News host Cathy Wurzer about the factors behind the cold, and other topics, in their weekly weather chat.
