Finding ‘whatever normal will be’: For Minnesota woman, complications linger long after COVID-19

Minnesota health officials are continuing to report high COVID-19 case numbers in the state. Hospitalizations are also trending higher. 

Many of these individuals sick with COVID-19 will recover, but what that recovery looks like is a different story. In some cases, the road to full health is difficult and long.

Someone who knows that all too well is Patty Secrest. She lost her longtime partner to the virus and spent three weeks on a ventilator herself this spring, at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul.

Today, she is still experiencing lingering complications from COVID-19. MPR News host Cathy Wurzer talked with Secrest about how life has changed as a result.
