The rise in craft breweries means more people are drinking local these days. But it might surprise you to learn that a lot of the ingredients going into those brews aren't local at all, and they're likely not organic.

Bang Brewing in St. Paul and the Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture at the University of Minnesota are working together to change that. They're launching the Organic Brewers Alliance, in the hopes of connecting brewers with farmers who are using sustainable practices.

Bang Brewing's owner and brewer Sandy Boss Febbo talked to MPR News host Steven John about the project. Hear their conversation using the audio player above.
