Mpls. charter commission begins work on proposal to eliminate MPD

A veto-proof majority of the Minneapolis City Council indicate support for dismantling the city's Police Department on June 7. The commission in charge of approving language that could remove the Minneapolis Police Department from the city charter on Wednesday took first steps in the process.
