Remembering longtime U of M professor Rosalie Kane
Longtime University of Minnesota professor Rosalie Kane passed away earlier this month at the age of 79, after a short battle with brain cancer.
Kane, a professor of social work and public health, championed a movement to help seniors find joy in aging. She and her husband, Robert Kane, both worked at the U of M for decades, and advocated for a more human-centered approach to long-term care.
MPR News host Cathy Wurzer spoke with Joe Gaugler about Kane’s work and legacy. Gaugler is director of the University of Minnesota’s Center on Aging, and Kane’s former colleague.
