As coronavirus spreads in Minnesota, health officials say it has been a challenge to supply enough masks to nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
That problem is increasingly urgent, as the elderly — and those with underlying health conditions — are particularly vulnerable to the virus. Most COVID-19 deaths reported in the state so far have originated in long-term care settings.
MPR News host Cathy Wurzer spoke with Patti Cullen about the situation in Minnesota’s long-term care settings. Cullen is president and CEO of Care Providers of Minnesota, which represents the state’s senior living facilities.
