Janet Jackson’s “Miss You Much” was No. 1 on the Billboard pop chart 30 years ago. It was the lead single from her album Rhythm Nation 1814, which was produced and recorded in Minneapolis by Terry Lewis and Jimmy “Jam” Harris.
According to Songfacts, Harris was inspired to write the song after receiving a breakup letter from his soon-to-be ex-girlfriend. She reportedly signed it “miss you much.”
