The man accused of throwing a five-year-old boy from a balcony at the Mall of America was charged this week with first-degree attempted murder. The boy survived but suffered critical injuries.
Court records indicate 24-year-old Emmanuel Aranda has been involved in other incidents resulting in convictions for fifth-degree assault, damaging property, resisting arrest and trespassing. He also previously participated in Hennepin County's mental health court.
