Retired University of Minnesota climatologist Mark Seeley has good news for anglers: so far, May temperatures are averaging a few degrees higher than normal, which means even more lakes should be open by Saturday's fishing opener.
He discussed the weather and other climate topics with Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer. (And for fair-weather anglers, a note: Sunday should be the nicer weekend day.)
