Smokey Robinson's first-ever solo holiday album "Christmas Everyday" came out last month. It features a fresh take on "Santa Claus is Coming to Town."

Santa Claus was inspired in part by Saint Nicholas and Wednesday is Saint Nicholas Day. Where it's celebrated, children are waking up and checking to see if St. Nick has left any coins in the shoes they put outside their bedrooms overnight.
