Trump promises federal crackdown on marijuana

At the end of last month, the Trump administration put states on notice that it was going to strictly enforce federal laws on the use of recreational marijuana.

This has alarmed distributors that have sprung up in states where recreational use is legal. While the administration says that it recognizes the benefits for medical marijuana users, it compares recreational use to opioids and the opioid epidemic.

MPR News host Kerri Miller spoke with two experts about the future of the legalization movement.
