Bob Dylan — Hibbing, Minn.'s hometown musical hero — amassed thousands of notebooks, recordings and photographs during his six-decade career.

More than 6,000 of those items will be archived at the Helmerich Center for American Research at the University of Tulsa.

"The only damage is Bob's coffee stains and cigarette stains," collection curator Michael Chaiken told The Associated Press recently.

Chaiken spoke with MPR News about the collection as well as future plans for curated exhibits.
