Skaters will race down a 1,200-foot track starting at the steps of the Cathedral of St. Paul.
The outdoor track will be refrigerated like National Hockey League rinks, according to Red Bull, and the race will continue whatever the weather.
An estimated 140,000 people attended the races last year.
Rides to the event will be free on Metro Transit's Green Line and buses from noon on Saturday until 1 a.m. Sunday. Shuttle service to the event is also available from a number of business across the Twin Cities
St. Paul city officials recommend taking advantage of free transit to get to the event. Some nearby streets are closed for construction or Crashed Ice events.
