Funeral services are expected Wednesday morning for a St. Paul paramedic who suffered a heart attack and died while on duty last week.
Shane Clifton was a Navy veteran and had been with the St. Paul fire department for eight years. He was working as a paramedic when he collapsed at a station on Snelling Avenue between emergency calls. Fellow paramedics and doctors tried for more than an hour to revive him.
He was the 63rd St. Paul firefighter to die on duty. He left behind two children.
His funeral is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church on Arcade Street in St. Paul. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday evening, and before the services at the church. Clifton will be buried at Fort Snelling.
