State lawmakers are expected to take on transportation funding when they convene for the 2015 Legislative session in January.
It's a contentious issue — and a pressing one. The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the state needs to spend billions of dollars over the next decade to keep the state's transportation infrastructure in good repair.
MPR News' Cathy Wurzer spoke with Sen. Scott Dibble, DFL-Minneapolis, who chairs the Senate Transportation Committee, and Tim Kelly, R-Red Wing, who will be the new House Transportation Committee chair.
