Lake Street Dive be performing tonight at First Avenue in Minneapolis. The band was started by students at the New England Conservatory of Music. The name was contributed by trumpet and guitar player Mike Olson. He is a native of Minneapolis and is familiar with the somewhat seedy bars that can be found on Lake Street. Drummer Mike Calabrese says "we were, are and always will be a dive bar band. Whether we're playing for 10 people or 10,000 we want them to have that feeling."
