Drivers will find a major road closure in the northeast suburbs this weekend starting at 10 p.m. Friday.
Highway 36 between Rice Street and Highway 61 will close on either side of Interstate 35E in Roseville and Maplewood.

Crews will be working above the road this weekend, removing the deck from the northbound 35E bridge. It's part of the MnPASS project in that corridor north of downtown St. Paul. Highway 36 is expected to reopen by Monday morning.
But that closing will be followed by others. Crews may shut down Roselawn Avenue and County Road B as soon as Sunday, again to remove bridge decking on 35E. Traffic on 35E has been shifted to the southbound lanes, and lane changes and freeway access changes are expected to be in place through mid October.
MnDOT says another project in Richfield is wrapping up this weekend. Crews will reopen the Xerxes Avenue bridge over Highway 62 as well as nearby ramps, tomorrow morning. They've been closed since April to reconstruct the bridge deck.
