Today's Morning Edition music comes from 50 years ago this month when "A World Without Love" by Peter and Gordon was the number song on the pop charts. Tonight at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis, Peter Asher will be performing this song and others he made with Gordon Waller who died in 2009. "A World Without Love" was written by Paul McCartney when he was dating Peter's sister Jane Asher. John Lennon didn't like the song, so McCartney gave it to Peter and Gordon. It is the first song credited to Lennon and McCartney to be a number one hit for a group other than the Beatles.
