In round two of voting, St. Louis County Commissioner Chris Dahlberg has the clear lead for the U.S. Senate endorsement among Republican delegates.
Dahlberg, an Iraq war veteran, has had unexpected success so far at the state party's convention.
Meanwhile, Rep. Jim Abeler, R-Anoka, and Monti Moreno dropped off in the second round of voting because they failed to secure enough votes.
Mike McFadden and Sen. Julianne Ortman, R-Chanhassen, were the presumed front runners for the endorsement. McFadden so far has 25 percent of the vote and Ortman dropped from 22 percent in the first round to 20 percent in the second.
Phillip Parrish once again came in with about 16 percent of the vote.
