Today's Morning Edition music is David Byrne performing "Sympathy for the Devil" live with his latin funk band in 1992. We're playing it in honor of Byrne's 62nd birthday today. This week, he posted this audio on his website, the first entry in a series he's calling "From the Archives." Byrne writes that at certain parts of the song he tried to sound like the Disney character Goofy because "I have long believed that the devil, should one exist, would not be some scary guy, but someone who sweetly perverts our better natures by more surreptitious means... and for me, Disney is the perfect example of that."
