Road closures this weekend will challenge drivers in the Twin Cities and in the Rochester area.
Part of Highway 62, the Crosstown, closes Friday at 10 p.m. near the U.S. 169 interchange in Edina and Eden Prairie. Crews are rebuilding the Highway 169 bridge deck; the road will be closed two more weekends this construction season.
Drivers on eastbound 62 will be detoured to southbound 169, eastbound Interstate 494 and northbound Highway 100. Westbound 62 traffic will be detoured northbound on Highway 169, to the Interstate 394 interchange and back south on Highway 169.
Southbound 169 will also be closed at Highway 62. Traffic there will be sent to Highway 212 and eastbound I-494. The closing is part of a reconstruction of the Highway 169 interchange.

A section of southbound Highway 101 is closing in Rogers Friday night. The stretch between 147th Street and South Diamond Lake road is scheduled to be closed at 9 p.m. and reopen mid-morning Saturday.
Highway 52 through Rochester will be closed in both directions, starting at 10 p.m. Friday. Crews will be working on the interchange with 55th Street in the northwest part of Rochester. The project includes widening the 55th Street bridge, improving the ramps and putting in new traffic signals.
That will also shut down 55th street in Rochester for the weekend. No traffic will be allowed to cross over Highway 52 or turn onto the highway.
Drivers on Highway 52 will be diverted up and down the freeway ramps on either side of 55th Street. The traffic lights will be kept green to improve traffic flow through the area, but drivers should be prepared for delays in the area.
The road is scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. on Monday. The project is scheduled to continue through October.
