Two Minneapolis police officers from the 4th precinct were injured late Tuesday when their Crown Victoria squad car driving eastbound on 36th Avenue was broadsided by an SUV at the intersection with Russell Avenue N.
Minneapolis police said in a statement that the two officers were transported to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale for treatment after the 9 p.m. incident, although their injuries weren't believed to be serious.
Two people in the SUV declined medical treatment at the scene of the crash.
Police didn't say if the squad car had its lights or siren on or what the officers were doing at the time of the crash. There are stop signs on 36th Avenue at the intersection. The department said they don't know what caused the crash.
