Fargo Mayor Dennis Walaker has a challenger as he seeks a third term.
Fargo businessman and eight-year city commission member Brad Wimmer says he can do a better job leading a rapidly growing city. Wimmer wants to focus on flood protection, economic growth and health and wellness initiatives.
"We're going to bring energy, we're going to bring collaboration," Wimmer said. "Fargo is youthful. Fargo wants a lot of healthy initiatives moving forward. Fargo is looking to grow and grow responsibly."
Walaker was the popular face of Fargo during historic Red River floods of recent years.
The city election is June 10.
