On this date in 1965, an English group known as The Mannish Boys released their version of "I Pity the Fool." Neither the song nor the group amounted to much, but members of the band did. The singer is David Bowie who was calling himself Davie Jones at that time. And the solo guitar licks were provided by Jimmy Page, who was a prolific studio musician before his time with the Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin.
