50 years ago today, "There I've Said it Again" by Bobby Vinton reached number one on the Billboard charts. It was the third song by Vinton to reach the top of the charts.
More significant than the song itself though, was that it marked the end of an era. To that point, American artists like Vinton had completely dominated the U.S. charts.
But that was about the change in a big way. A group from Liverpool would have the next number one and keep the top spot for the next three months.
