By lunch time today, the state of Minnesota and the Vikings might have very well have sealed a 30-year deal for a new stadium in Minneapolis.
But the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority has called a time out.
MSFA officials said they are putting off the final, formal approval of what was expected to be the long-term use and development agreement between the state, city and the NFL team.
They've rescheduled a meeting for next Thursday.
It isn't clear what the delay means, although it follows a stern warning from Gov. Mark Dayton that he wasn't happy with how the deal might be shaping up.
The MSFA declined to offer any explanation of what's going on last night, although it might have more to say today.
