After some epic political battles, same-sex couples will be able to marry legally in Minnesota starting at midnight tonight.

"For some, it's the culmination of years of waiting or fighting for marriage equality. For others, it's a milestone they thought would never arrive," writes MPR News reporter Jon Collins.

"Minnesota became the 12th state to legalize same-sex marriage following a momentous two-year political battle. But tonight the spotlight will be on the couples."
