Eight groups of Minnesota students are heading home today carrying a bit more hardware than when they left.
The students all placed at the 2013 National History Day competition at the University of Maryland yesterday.
Among the winners was Kateri Schmidt, who along with her sister Maggie, and classmate Carly Zimmerman, won first place for their performance "John Paul II's Apostolic Journey to Poland."
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Kateri Schmidt about their winning project.
