When the House Tax committee reconvenes today, one of things under discussion will be a new plan for funding improved infrastructure around the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
DFLers in the House are proposing that the state contribute $338 million to the Mayo Clinic expansion project over the next 20 years. That's about $200 million less than what Mayo is asking for. To make up the difference, Olmsted County and the city of Rochester would raise local taxes.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede about the new plan.
