The Twin Cities Daily Planet's Bill Huntzicker has an interesting round up on the neighbors nervously eyeing the prospect of Vikings games at TCF Bank Stadium -- likely starting in August of 2014. The Marcy Homes Neighborhood Association, the folks living in Prospect Park and the U of M area business community are all wondering what pro football, and (mostly) Sunday games might bring to the area east of the U.
As usual, there's some coin involved: Huntzicker reports that area residents are hoping the Vikings chip into what's being termed a "Good Neighbor Fund." The MHNA is also apparently floating the idea of a $1 a seat “neighborhood livability surcharge” to fund improvements in the area around the Bank.
