Many gardeners around Minnesota are waking up this morning and assessing the damage, if any, to their plants. Temperatures overnight were in the twenties with more frosty temperatures expected tonight.

This cold spell is coming on the heels of a very early and warm spring, which had many plants blooming about a month earlier than usual.

Cathy Wurzer talks Mary Meyer, a professor of horticultural science at the University of Minnesota, about the weather's effect on area plants.
