Scholar says we must move beyond celebrations to honor King

On this Martin Luther King Day, events and service projects are scheduled across the state. Penn State professor Kirt Wilson thinks that's a good thing, but he also says that to fully honor Dr. King, we need to move discussions about race beyond the simply ceremonial.

Wilson will speak Wednesday night at the College of St. Benedict. At Penn State, he teaches rhetorical studies and public discourse. Subjects he previously taught at the University of Minnesota. Cathy Wurzer talks with professor Kirt Wilson about how he thinks we can move discussions about race beyond the ceremonial.
