The Minnesota Senate's taxes and local government committees will start taking testimony at the Capitol on Tuesday morning about site selection and other details of a new stadium for the Minnesota Vikings.
Financing options will be the subject of another hearing next week.
Representatives from the Vikings and the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission are scheduled to testify. There will also be time for public comments.
The hearing comes after a Vikings advertising campaign asking the state to redirect player and team income taxes to a stadium. But that money already goes to Minnesota's general fund, and state leaders have ruled out general fund revenues.
DFL state representative Terry Morrow, of St. Peter, is also planning to roll out a new stadium financing plan. He's scheduled to unveil it at a Capitol press conference later Monday.
