Gov.-elect Mark Dayton wants to fast-track the expansion of Medicaid in Minnesota under President Obama's health care reform law. Dayton says he'll authorize the expansion within days of taking office on January 3, 2010. But state officials say it could take until October to move about 95,000 low-income Minnesotans into the program.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with outgoing Human Services Commissioner Cal Ludeman, who's leaving when Gov. Tim Pawlenty's administration ends, about why it could take so long.
