The Minnesota Department of Transportation is reopening a key river crossing in the Minnesota River Valley on Tuesday afternoon.
MnDOT will open the Highway 101 crossing over the river in time for the evening rush hour. The agency closed the stretch of road between Shakopee and Chanhassen on September 27 because of flooding.
The state says crews have patched the road and complete initial repairs to damage left after the flood. But crews will have to come back later to complete off-roadway repairs along the road, starting Wednesday.
The road still may be reduced to a single lane during the work.
The opening is one of the last in the wake of serious flooding that followed record rains in southern Minnesota last month.
Another nearby crossing, Highway 41, has already reopened.
