The U.S. Senate is expected to approve another $2 billion infusion into the "cash for clunkers" program today. The popular stimulus program drained through most of its first Billion dollar allotment in its opening week.
The program pays consumers up to $4,500 for gas-guzzling trade-ins. About a 250,000 new cars have been sold to buyers taking advantage of the program so far. An additional $2 billion is expected to extend the rebates until Labor Day.
Last week we visited Fury Motors in South St. Paul to find out how the "cash for clunkers" program was affecting dealers. Today, we're checking back in with Jim Leonard, co-owner of Fury Motors.
