A busy stretch of Interstate 35W near Richfield is closing this weekend.
Minnesota Department of Transportation crews will be erecting steel beams for the new eastbound Highway 62 bridge over Interstate 35W this weekend.
That means all lanes of 35W, from I-494 to Crosstown Hwy 62 near the Richfield/Bloomington border will be closed beginning at 10:00 p.m. tonight, and will re-open Monday morning at 5:00 a.m.
All lanes of Highway 62 will remain open during the weekend construction project. Motorists should follow the posted detours.
The Crosstown Commons re-construction project is scheduled to be completed by December 2010. MnDOT says the project is projected to cost $288 million.
