An early look at long-term state budget solutions

A bipartisan panel this week said that Minnesota's budget problems are here to stay unless elected officials take steps to fix the situation long term.

The state faces a projected $4.8 billion deficit for the next two-year budget cycle.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with state economist Tom Stinson about some ideas to address the budget over more than a couple of years.
