This time of year barges should be moving up and down the Mississippi River, in and out of St. Paul. But flooding across the Midwest has brought traffic to a standstill.
The Army Corps of Engineers has closed multiple locks on the river and is waiting for water levels to fall.
Lee Nelson, president of Upper River Services, a Twin Cities based barge company, spoke with Morning Edition's Cathy Wurzer about how the logjam affects his business.
