Poverty in Minnesota is on the rise. But census numbers released in September show poverty hits some groups harder than others -- including American Indians. On the White Earth reservation in northern Minnesota, tribal officials estimate up to 50 percent of American Indians live below the poverty line.
This week, crews fought the Boundary Waters wildfire, Minnesota native Shane Bauer and his friend Josh Fattal were released from an Iranian jail and Eric Kaler was inaugurated as the new University of Minnesota president.
