Photos: BWCA firefighting grows more complex
Efforts to control the unpredictable Pagami Creek Fire in northeastern Minnesota have entered a more aggressive phase, and special team from the northern Rocky Mountains has arrived in Ely to take over its management.

Fire raging in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness continues to spread. Authorities now estimate that the wildfire in northern Minnesota has engulfed about 100,000 acres -- about ten times its reported size just 24 hours ago.
