President Joe Biden and other leaders announced on Wednesday that negotiators from Israel and Hamas reached an agreement to pause the war for a 42-day ceasefire and hostage release in Gaza. News of the deal raised hopes that a 15-month war could soon come to an end. But, Israel has failed to ratify the agreement.

MPR News guest host Catharine Richert talks about the latest developments in the efforts to reach a long-awaited agreement to end the war.
