Domestic violence can affect anyone at any time

The Clothesline Project is an annual visual memorial to the past year's victims of intimate partner violence made by Violence Free Minnesota, a coalition of organizations working to end domestic violence. The coalition says in 2023, 39 Minnesotans were killed by intimate partner violence.

One in three women, and one in five men will experience physical violence by an intimate partner at some point in their lives. Violence in intimate relationships occurs across every socioeconomic group. It happens in cities, suburbs and rural areas. It affects all genders, sexual identities and ages, regardless of culture, race, religion and abilities.

MPR News host Angela Davis and her guest talk about how domestic violence can happen to anyone at any time and is preventable and treatable.
