The United Nations released another urgent climate report last week.
At a press conference for the release of that report, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said, “Humanity is on thin ice and that ice is melting fast.”
His words and the message of the report are resoundingly clear: take swift action or face devastating climate effects. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the authors of the report, say keeping global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius will be vital.
So, with major climate legislation like Minnesota’s 2040 carbon free bill, is Minnesota acting fast enough?
