Yoga has always been about creating a healthy body and a healthy mind. The many varieties of yoga incorporate postures and stretches with attention to breathing. Some forms strongly emphasize relaxation and meditation.

For many people, the pandemic presented a perfect opportunity to explore the mental health benefits of yoga as people seek ways to relieve the stress of COVID, social division and financial uncertainty.

The proliferation of online yoga in the last few years also has made participation easier for people who have been reluctant or unable to go to a yoga class.

Host Angela Davis talks with a yoga instructor and a yoga researcher about the benefits of yoga and how the ancient practice is attracting a broader following.
