Muhammad Nishat and his family are among nearly 100 Afghans who have arrived in Minnesota following the United States’ withdrawal from Afghanistan in August.

Until then, Nishat performed humanitarian work in his home country. Now, he lives with his wife and eight kids in a Twin Cities hotel room.

Nishat spoke to Sahan Journal reporter Hibah Ansari about his family’s 44-day journey
