How to protect yourself from political scams

Election Day is five weeks away and campaigns are busy.

But do you know the difference between genuine political campaigners and impostors?

According to the Better Business Bureau, scammers are making phony fundraising calls and impersonating candidates to trick voters to donate to an illegitimate account rather than a campaign.

MPR News host Angela Davis speaks with Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon and Susan Adams Loyd, president and CEO of the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota, on how to protect yourself from political scams.

Angela also checks in with MPR’s Chief Meteorologist Paul Huttner. Is the cool weather here to stay?
