Joan Gabel is the 17th president of the University of Minnesota and the first woman to hold the position. She’s been on the job for just over four months now.

Gabel oversees a system that includes five campuses, nearly 67,000 students and thousands of faculty and staff. She joined Angela Davis in studio for a conversation about the challenges facing the U of M, its role in Minnesota and her plans for its future.
