Last year, the airline with the a la carte fee schedule for carry-on bags and other amenities more than doubled its passenger traffic at the airport to about 600,000.
The "arterial bus rapid transit" is projected to make local bus service as much as 25 percent faster without making major changes to the street. It's the first of its kind in the Twin Cities, officials said.
An advisory board that includes officials from Eden Prairie, St. Louis Park, Hopkins and Minnetonka, on Wednesday voted to support the agreement, although several suggested Minneapolis is receiving special treatment.
Hundreds of people packed a Minneapolis public meeting Tuesday night about the compromise, and from the the sounds of it, many weren't there as a show of support.
