Farmers around Minnesota who planted crops in the past few weeks we’re hoping for a good soaking. This week’s weather system has delivered critical rainfall that will boost crops in the coming weeks. 

It’s still raining around much of Minnesota Tuesday. Preliminary rainfall totals show more than 2 inches of rain at many locations in southern Minnesota with 1 inch or more into central Minnesota. 

 Tuesday. Keep in mind many of these are reports from the morning and additional rain has fallen.

This system has dropped more than 2 inches of rain in southern Minnesota, including the greater Twin Cities area. In central and north-central Minnesota, around 1 inch or more has fallen from Park Rapids through the Brainerd Lakes area through the Lake Mille Lacs area.

Temperatures in the rain zone will continue to run about 10 to 20 degrees cooler than normal Wednesday.

Lighter rain will continue through Wednesday. Our weather will turn sunnier and drier starting Thursday. Most of the Memorial Day weekend will feature a mix of sun and clouds. The highest chance of a spotty shower comes on Memorial Day.

There are signs of 70s and 80s returning later next week.
